About the Role

As the Head of Value Management, Speakers you will own speaker cost optimization globally. You will lead the global cross-functional teams to create a cost-improvement strategy and ideas and drive and implement the cost-improvement strategy and activities to reduce the total cost of speakers. Your scope will include Projects AND Products, a full life cycle from RFQ through post-SOP, COPQ, and Sustainability

Your Team

You will lead a global team with 8-10 direct reports including transducer engineering, adhesive specialists, Mechanical Engineers, and Business Analysts.


What You Will Do

  • Set the strategic direction and roadmap for the global speaker VAVE group worldwide and execute critical projects. Ensure that the strategy is set and aligned to the R&D activities and technology rollouts as well as manufacturing strategy and requirements.

  • Managing all aspects of speaker VAVE responsibilities worldwide including projects and products, pre and post-SOP, and ensuring parts are designed to meet benchmark costs.

  • Works with all engineering groups and other cross-functional teams to drive and deliver value to customers through features and cost reduction. Identify the lowest cost way and ensure the highest worth to accomplish the functions of a product, process, or project.

  • Ensure set up and execution of 2 years rolling VAVE pipeline with SBU leads.

  • Participate in the development of common work practices, procedures, and design standards with other engineering teams and manufacturing teams to achieve cost excellence.

  • Keep abreast of the latest developments in world-class best practices about material cost and manufacturing cost.

  • Setting objectives, measuring performance, conducting appraisals, and developing team/ engineer through coaching and counseling.

  • Foresee the technology opportunities beyond specific divisional or platform spaces but at a more systematic/ holistic level. Begins to develop a point of view on standards in the specific area of expertise or as projects prove key insights.

  • Support speaker product line leads to deliver cost-effective speakers and drive for profitability improvement.

  • Hire, coach, and develop high-performing talent ensuring the success of each team member.

  • Foster and maintain a positive and collaborative work environment to motivate staff while driving improvement through innovative solutions.

What You Need

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

  • 15+ years experience in product development engineering (mechanical parts, speaker industry preferred)

  • Engineering/program management leadership experience in leading and coaching large multi-site teams

  • Global product development experience

  • Proven consistent success in delivering cost-effective products.

  • Proven experience in collaborating with a team of design engineering, manufacturing, finance, sourcing, and product management members and coordinating activities among team members with either direct or indirect reporting structure.

  • Proven key leadership traits and skills: collaborative work style, integrity, creativity, objectivity, assertiveness, effectiveness, responsibility, honesty, and reliability.

What is Nice to Have

  • Advanced degree in engineering, business, or management/leadership preferred.
