We're seeking a Plant Human Resources Manager to join our growing organization. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing managing the Human Resources department at our Cresco, IA location. We are looking for someone that is able to lead, manage, facilitate, connect, and build relationships with our plant personnel and the surrounding community. You will manage a small team, lead Human Resources for approximately 300 employees, and be a strategic partner for the Plant Director and Corporate HR team.This is an ideal role for someone looking to make an impact, lead change, and get involved with all aspects of Human Resources.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing and implementing employee relations practices and strategies, including the following: employee engagement, labor relations, wage and salary administration, selection and staffing, orientation and training, organizational development, performance management, succession planning, conflict resolution and workers compensation.

  • Influence, coach and provide guidance to the plant leadership team and employees regarding HR practices, policies and procedures.

  • Active involvement in grievance resolution, arbitrations, contract renewal and general labor relations. Maintain adherence to the collective bargaining agreement.

  • Demonstrate a growth mindset that understands the organization's goals and strategies; can effectively translate this direction into strategic and operational people practices.

  • Partner with Operations leadership and other key stakeholders to drive HR and operational strategies.

  • Responsible for leading investigations and proposing any related corrective action.

  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures for the entire site.

  • Lead HR-related projects and initiatives both within the site and the broader HR Organization.

  • Manage a small team of HR and administrative professionals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resource management, business or related field.

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience.

  • 2+ years of HR experience in a union environment.

  • Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HR certification (SCP, CP, PHR) preferred.

  • Master's degree in HR related discipline preferred.

  • Supervisory experience is preferred.

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of Human Resources practices; working knowledge of HR related laws and regulations

  • Possess knowledge of management; the principles, practices, and procedures of Human Resources Management.

  • Strong communication skills, problem solving skills, and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and direct the work of others.

  • Experience conducting employment related investigations.

  • Solid analytical skills and ability to understand the business context and strategy.

  • Ability to effectively work on multiple assignments, while responding to frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
